Penhab is one of the oldest chalets in the Glemm Valley. Did you know that each house is numbered according to when it was built? Penhab is the 145th building to be built in the valley. You will see, on your arrival, that all the original beams are visible from the outside and on the 4th floor, you can see etched into the wood the year 1945, the date when Penhab was built and Hasenaour, the family name of the owner.
We have some old photographs here from Penhab, and we have leant a lot from the last owner, Mrs. Hasenaur. The area which is now used as the cosy bar used to be the kitchen and living area. This was the only room with heating.
Up until the 70s Penhab was used as a youth hostel. A revamp was done and Penhab became a Pension/chalet, with all rooms having en suites built into them. Annie and myself have made a few changes which we hope you will like and we have plans for minor updates in the future but Penhab is a traditional Austrian building with lots of charm, so why change it!
